Gavin Construction is a family owned Construction Company founded in 1969. Our Occupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation Policy is based on a belief that the well being of people employed at work, or people affected by our work, is a major priority and must be considered during all work, covered by Civil Contracting and Construction. People are our most important asset and their health and safety is our greatest responsibility. The public shall be given equal priority to that of our employees.
The objectives of our Safety Policy are:
• The safety and well-being of all our employees is of utmost importance and it is our goal that all employees of Gavin Construction regard this as their highest priority.
• To make available this policy to all interested parties including staff, visitors and sub contractors.
• To establish a set of measurable objectives and targets.
• To make Health and Safety an integral part of every management and supervisory position.
• It is vital that the health, safety and well-being of our employees and subcontractors should not be impaired as a result of working with Gavin Construction.
• To ensure that all health and safety is considered in all planning and work activities.
• It is our Policy to emphasise to all employees the need to take the initiative in anticipating, preventing and correcting the conditions and practices that may cause physical harm to themselves or other persons, and to the general public.
• To involve our employees in the decision making processes through regular communication, consultation and training.
• It is important that all employees strive to achieve a working environment where safety incidents and injuries are eliminated.
• To provide a continuous program of education and learning.
• Through the conscientious application of appropriate procedures and safe working practices the company aims to provide a safe working environment.
• To ensure that all potential accidents/incidents are controlled and prevented.
• To provide effective injury management and rehabilitation for all employees.
• To ensure that all relevant OHS Acts/Regulations and requirements are available for consultation.
• To ensure that Gavin Construction comply with all relevant Legislation.
