The building has a strong heritage element to its design, whilst integrating modern facilites, and services a community of over 200 residents. The design ensured separation of administrative functions, community function rooms with attached commercial kitchen, medical and personal amenities. Activity areas include an indoor heated swimming pool and spa, gymnasium, billiard room, lawn bowls pitch, barbeque facilities and a croquet green!
Constructed with the classic red brick facade and clay tile roof, the complex successfully demonstrates a contemporary representation of the old federation style buildings. The project was undertaken following occupation of stage 1 & 2 of the residential units, which meant special care had to be paid to minimizing impact on the surrounding residents during construction. Meticulous attention to the landscaping, external facilities and gardens produced a very high finish to this timeless building.
Internally the project was finished to a very high level, equivalent to a hotel standard of fittings. This included extensive design elements such as coffered ceilings, numerous built-in furnishings, elaborate lighting facilities and a full commercial kitchen. Interior decoration matched the heritage external theme and, with creative use of colour and materials, the finished project has met with resounding endorsement from the residents.
