A striking design feature of the building is the bold portal arch centred at the front of the building, which is clad with porcelain tiles imported direct from Italy. Contrasting against this is the entrance canopy with its soffit lined in rich western red cedar.
Combination tilt-up concrete panels and steel portal framing, proved cost effective, to achieve a minimum height to the warehouse of 10-m. Anticon has been installed to the roof and walls achieving a maximum ambient temperature of approximately 24 degrees. This provides a comfortable working environment for staff all year round.
Reflective blue tinted glass to the external elevations of the building was chosen to illustrate the company's business in natural spring water.
Internally, transparent design enables visitors the opportunity of inspecting the production of spring water bottling from the comfort of the reception area. The warehouse has been designed to accommodate the company's food brokerage division. Special provision has been made for full height pallet racking. This was achieved with the use of the States only 'Laser Leveling' concrete machine. This ensured construction of the ground floor slab to the required tolerance of 3-mm in 3 metres, achieving a stable platform for the erection and continued use of the racking.
