Prominent design feature
A striking design feature is the unique and artistic application of the external colour scheme and “future proofing” of the building structure. The project has been designed to accommodate future expansion with the utilisation of a steel clad portal frame structure to the eastern elevation. This unique feature allows for the warehouse to be easily extended in an easterly direction with minimal disruption to the day to day operations of the business.

Construction features
The building has been compartmentalised into 4 zones. Administration, Cool Rooms, Food Processing, Warehouse/Storage and Viva corn chip production. This was done to accommodate special fire risks associated with the Viva Corn Chip processing line, by isolating it from the main warehousing and administration areas. The Viva Corn Chip processing area is located to the rear of the property, being the further most point from the residential area, greatly reducing the potential noise impact. It also allows for all mechanical services required for the production line to be located directly externally to the Viva room, thus reducing the distances of services and supply. The use of Tilt Panel construction to this area further reduced sound emissions.

The ground floor slab was constructed with a + - tolerance of between 2 to 3-mm to integrate the future use of a specialised forklift with new pallet racking systems. Specalised cool room paneling systems have been used to accommodate temperature controlled food preparation and storage rooms. Strict Health Department, BCA, Australian Standard & HASAP regulations were adhered to in order for the building to be industry compliant.

This new food manufacturing and processing facility represents state of the art in design and construction solutions.
