E & MJ Rosher

Project Overview

Offices and showroom
Suffering from a distinct lack of street exposure and lost amongst a sea of tiered run-down semi industrial/retail establishments, E & MJ Rosher were surviving on long standing clientele knowing the location of their showroom. New customers were literally driving past the building and having difficulty locating them. With new distributor agreements in place, the building premises that had successfully served the family business for over 30 years was now too small. Either the business had to be relocated or the premises renovated. The decision was made to renovate.

  • Location: 1748 Albany Highway, Kenwick
  • Contract source: Negotiated contract

Project Features

Prominent design feature:
The building now offers a strong street presence with the use of 5 large coloured signage panels serving as both functional and structural features. These panels represent the core of the external design with each panel colour representing the product branding for the key merchandise. Internally, an open floor plan provided versatility in the showroom area for stock ranging in size, from small hand-held water cleaners to large farm machinery.

Construction features: The building includes aesthetic design features that also have a functional purpose. Tilt-up concrete panels have been used to maximise the net usable space and minimise construction time. Suspended ceilings were used to delineate office zones from the showroom area. Given the strong connection with the farming community, consideration was given to providing a building that had agricultural elements. This was achieved by internally exposing the full mechanics of the roof structure and simply applying a paint finish. This visually created a studio effect which also offered the height needed to place large farming equipment on display.
