prominent design feature: The projects prominent positioning in the Southern River commercial precinct has been fully utilized with a very bold paint colour scheme that makes it a landmark building of the area. The multi-colour paint scheme is offset with the use of extensive architectural metalwork screens and face brickwork with course banding. The rear of the building (seel picture above) has an extensive courtyard with intricate brick paving banding and patterns with exposed aggregate infills.
construction features: The Holton Connor Architects design incorporates the use of curves to all structures including Structural Steel, Roofing and Concrete Tilt-Up Panels. The prominent entry statement feature awning (see picture above) and multi coloured concrete archways provide a striking main entry elevation top the building. The street façade has an enclosed courtyard with architectural feature security screens to provide a secure external entertainment area for the end users of the building.
internal features: Internally, the building has an entry foyer, library, multipurpose hall, youth function hall, recording studio and commercial kitchens. Again the architect has used curved surfaces to walls, ceilings and bulkheads to continue the themes so strong in the external facades of the building. The layout is simple and functional but full of distinctive architectural details. The City of Gosnells are very proud of the newest community building and Gavin Construction looks forward to working with them again soon.
