design feature: The office was designed in close consultation with
the clients to compliment their organisational structure and to incorporate
features which allowed for future expansion. The use of innovative materials
such as alpolic panelling and feature columns against extensive tinted glass
work ensured a contemporary finish that will stand the test of time.
construction
features: Both the office and warehouse structures have been built
using tilt panel construction. The ground floor slab of the warehouse was
constructed with a + - tolerance of between 2 to 3-mm to accommodate for the
extensive pallet racking and the potential future need for specialised
forklifts. Due to the extent of pallet racking, additional columns were used to
reduce the cost of roof steel. A thermal analysis was commissioned to establish
heat loads and energy efficiency of the office building. Specialised tinted
glass was utilized in combination with the placement of specifically rated
insulation to reduce the capital outlay on the mechanical plant, and to
minimise running costs.
internal
features: The internal finish of the office matches the external
contemporary influence. Clean lines with modular workstations arranged to take
advantage of an open floor plan design, provide for a healthy work environment,
and a reflection pond is located under the main internal staircase to provide a
pleasant vista across from the boardroom. An alfresco entertaining area
adjacent to the lunchroom has been designed is ideal for everyday use by staff,
or high end corporate functions.
