warehouse facility was designed to
accommodate the owner occupier needs for offices with two dedicated workshops
to the rear with mezzanine storage facility.

design feature: A large “D” was designed as a strong feature
which provided both form and function. Painted a striking bold red in the
companies corporate colours, the “D” served many purposes. The “D” was the
first letter of the Client’s name – DESIGN TEC. It not only caught your
attention and emphasised the main entrance but also acted as support for the
entry canopy over the entrance door. Strong bold colours of white, red and
black were used on the facade of the main office building. Extensive glazing provided
plenty of light into the office. The internal office walls along the external
perimeter were glazed full height to allow natural light to filter through into
the open plan office area in the middle. This helped reduce the amount of
artificial lighting needed. Although simple in form, the use of extensive
glazing, horizontal colorbond customorb sheeting combined well with the
butterfly roof to the office and bold colours to present a striking building
that captured ones attention when driving past.
construction
features: The building is predominantly concrete tilt
up panels with maximum aluminium glazing to street frontage of the office. This
ensured that fewer trades were required on site and speeded up the construction
period. The building was located along the back and side boundaries to allow
for parking along front boundary, the opposite boundary and access to the four
roller doors into the two workshops.
